INTRODUCTION TO SVSIHHI PRIVATE SURVIVAL THEME CITIES
The other most inconvenient matters that shall continue to confront us on a daily basis will be those issues that affect our pocket book ... How do we justify a security of person and family when we witness the media exposures of poverty and habitat dislocation that exists in our world? Today, 68.5 million people are living as displaced persons, with 28.5 million surviving in refugee camps. And, in our industrialized, western world, 20% of children live in a single parent family, surviving below the poverty line. While, the dismal statistic of women dying in labour (MMR) in the western industrialized world is nearly double as it was 20 years ago. And, child starvation incidence is overwhelming. We are cautioned by a continuous catalogue of scientific reports that inform us that there are vast increases to population (7.6 billion now; 9.7 billion by 2050; and, 11.2 billion by the end of this century) and, that with this perceived extreme climate change of global warming, that 1 -2 billion people will be dislocated from their coastal homes before 2100. We do have adequate, accumulated wisdom to rationalize our way out of this dire and deep hole of over consumption in a world of finite natural resources; and, path finding leadership is here - if we are prepared to stop and listen ... Traditionally, we account for good judgment by espousing decision making as being related to the legacies that we shall leave for our children.
Can we do better - will we do better ? There are always those who can stride forward to justify maintaining the existing status quo; and, they will argue vociferously that there is no rationale in disturbing the distribution of wealth - that being rich or poor preserves the middle class population. As the protagonists, herein (MwecommercegroupICG) we offer that there is reasonable good and just cause for our general population citizenry to remain hopeful and enthusiastic that we - the global community of nations - can and will do better - and, that such is occurring right now, in spite of all of those fear mongers who continue to advocate for greater border security and higher standards for immigration applications ... Let us get real ! Our commerce and trade engines will not slow down ... unless we activate this transition ... this higher standard of care for our home, this Mother Earth. Our global economic engine will sputter again - and, soon. Massive nation and personal debtloads cannot continue to rise. And, there is great need for a new economic practice. Since 1960, our MWEcommercegroupICG family has been advocating wiser stewardship - a breathing together with Mother Earth; of reconciling with our Sun; and, adjusting our individual and joint demands to a higher level of common sense ... We can find and implement those good answers - and, we must do it now!
